Best Moment This Year

This year has been a lot of fun, there has been so many hilarious moments but this one no matter how small it is, is my favourite by far.

A while back our class was playing dodgeball and our best player Thomas Milicich  threw a ball at me. I was about to walk off when I noticed that the ball was between my legs so technically I caught the ball! Doing that felt so good because afterwards my team won!

Also each year our school has a big day out and our job for this blog post is to try and predict it! The last few times we have done a sport thing so this year I'm guessing we are doing another sport thing.

Being a year 8

Next year in the very near future I will be a year 8.

Some things I would like to do as a year 8 would be to try and earn some badges because I haven't earned many this year and I would like to leave the school with a few memories.

A challenging thing for being a year 8 will be the year 8 camp because I really don't want to go and apparently I am which will be pretty hard.

I'm looking forward to being some of the oldest in the school as a year 8 because being a year 7 just doesn't feel as fulfilling as being a year 8.

I'm kind of exited and worried for being a year 8, but at least it isn't college just yet.

Book Week

Each year at our school we have a book week, book week is when we do book related work, sometimes an author comes in and on book character day we get to dress as people from books!

This years book week in yr7/8 we have easy work for two weeks like designing art from books and book reviews, and NZ author Kate De Goldi  came to our school to talk about her books.

But my favourite thing in book week was book character day when we had this book parade of everyone in the school witch was fun, I was a gladiator from the horrible history's books.

In the end my top three book week activities would be:
1. Book character day
2.Kate De Goldi
3.Fun schoolwork

What were your favourite book week activities? Please comment with your top 3.

The Animal Undie Ball

Image result for animal undie ball
The Animal Undie ball is a book written by Ruth Paul about some animals gathering from far and wide and having a huge party in there undergarments.

All the animals were having a huge party in there underpants until some other animals turn up and are not happy.

It turns out that they were only upset because they were animals that are unable to wear underpants so it was unfair for them. Then king lion decides that instead of wearing underpants they should all wear nothing so everyone can join in.

I really like this story because it delivers the moral that everyone should be aloud to join in and that no one should be left behind in a fun colourful package. If you want comment with your favourite book from child hood.

AFL

Recently people have been coming to school and teaching us the game AFL. AFL is a game similar to rugby except the pitch is bigger and oval shaped and the ball is smaller as well as some other things.

So far we have been taught the most basic kicking technique called the drop kick, the drop kick is important because it is the most accurate method of kicking for passes and goal kicking. There are a few rhymes for doing the dropkick like: laces away from faces  crosses up and down and ring fingers on the seems.

AFL is a really fun sport and I would recommend it. Also there is a sight online called AFL.nz with lots of info and clips witch is good.
