Adaptation

At school we have been learning about an evolutionary paradise known as the Galapagos Islands.

The Galapagos Islands as you may know is the very archipelago that inspired Charles Darwin's theory of evolution! The main animals that helped inspire the theory are the Galapagos Islands finches, when Charles was studying the different finches he noticed that they had different beaks depending on what food they ate and what island they lived on, then he thought that they might have changed over millions of years to suit their living conditions thus making the theory of evolution.

I think that the Galapagos Islands are really cool and I hope you do to.

School jobs

At our school we have jobs for the yr7-8 kids to do and I was lucky enough to get the job of librarian!!

Before you get a job at our school you must write a letter to the teacher/staff member who runs the job and they will decide if your in or not, once you have a job you get a badge and they tell you when your on for example Tuesday morning tea (that's when I'm on) and you come at that time to enact your duties in your job.

I managed to get the job of librarian which is mainly sorting books, issuing books for people and other book related things, I really enjoy library because I love books and I have learned lots about all the different things we do in our library and the only thing I found challenging is to remember to come on my shift!!

I really like my role as librarian but sadly we don't get paid.

financial literacy

wow another good post things are getting interesting around here!!

on Wednesday a man from asb came to tell us about saving money and it was absolutely hilarious. He had some stuff with him which helped explain how to make money and have fun, he told us about how different jobs earn different amounts of money and minimum wage and how you have to get a degree to get some jobs.

In the end I found it very informative and funny and I really liked it.
